Why is Internet Marketing Important to My Business?
This question, submitted by Joyce, one of my Holistic Web Marketing e-zine subscriber www.Ukuleleuniverse.com, may seem simple but it's answer is incredibly important. For people that are just starting out on the Internet, or perhaps have had a "sticks and mortar" location business (for example, a shoe store) and want to get online, it helps to have a clear expectation about what you're getting into and what it will take to get your website profitable. When you've been online and your website just isn't the golden mecca of wealth that you hoped it would be, Internet Marketing is important because it will help you take what you've built and make it grow. Many of people seem to think that once you put up a website that you will simply get visitors. That is very far from true. Without proper marketing, a website is basically an online business card, nothing more, nothing less. How much business do you get when you don't pass out your business card? Not much, right? That's how it works online too. You see, there really isn't any "drive-by traffic" on the Internet. Sure, someone may stumble across you occasionally but that's not the ideal client, is it? Probably not. What you need is targeted traffic that is looking for what you are offering. Targeted means focused and specific to your cause and traffic is people visiting your site. So, here are just a few of the many reasons Internet Marketing is important to your business. Marketing=more traffic. Marketing attracts more tightly focused traffic, which is best, but sometimes just increasing the volume of overall visitors makes a marked difference to your success.
More traffic=more people get to see what you're offering. Don't hide your light under a bushel, right? More people who get to see what you're offering=more people interested in and impressed by your product, service or cause. People tell other people about the cool things they find on the web. You need to be one of the "cool things". More interested people=increased likelihood of purchases or education which leads to... More likelihood of purchases or education=more purchases or knowledge transmitted which leads to... More purchases or knowledge transmitted=success for you or your cause.
You see, it's not all about money. It's about succeeding in your mission. You may have a mission to be a millionaire. Good for you. Go for it! But, you won't become a millionaire if you're the world's best kept secret. Internet Marketing can introduce you to the world and the world to you. You may have a mission to eradicate diabetes or increase the world's literacy rate. Good for you! Go for it! But, these causes need exposure to gain momentum for solution. Internet Marketing can give you this needed exposure and momentum. Give it a try. What are the infinite possibilities that it will work? They're enormous and you deserve to enjoy them. So, take what's yours to have and use Internet Marketing to be a success in your mission.
